When I opened the first "Body Shop" in 1976, what I wanted to do was to earn(挣)enough money to feed my children. Today the "Body Shop" is a great company growing fast all around the world. In the years since we began, I have learned a lot. Much of what I have learned will be found in this book, because I believe that we, as a company, have something worth saying about how to run a successful business without giving up what you really believe in.
It' s not an ordinary business book. It is not just about my life, either. The message is that to succeed in business you have to be different. Business can be fun, and can be run. with love and do good. In business, as in life, I need to enjoy myself, to have a feeling of my family and to feel excited by something unusual. I have always wanted the people who work for the "Body Shop" to feel
      the same way.
Now this book sends these ideas out into the world, and makes them public. I' d like to think there are no limits(界限) to our "family", and no limits to what can be done. I find that an exciting thought. I hope you do, too.

New rules and behavior standards(行为规范) for middle school students came out in March. The Middle School is going to use a new way to decide who the top students are. The best students won' t only have high marks. They should not dye (染) their hair, smoke or drink because they are students. The following are some of the new rules.
Have you ever copied someone else' s work in an exam? Don' t do that again ! That' s not something an honest student should do.
Do more at school. Good students love animals and care for other people. April is Bird-loving Month in China. Is your school doing anything to celebrate it? You should join! And you can learn more about animals and how to protect them. Be friendly to the people around you. Try to think of others, not only yourself.
Be open to new ideas. Do you think people can live on the moon? Maybe you' 11 find another earth someday. Don' t look down on new ideas. Everyone' s ideas are important. You should welcome them, because new ideas make life better for everyone.
Protect yourself. Has someone ever taken money from one of your classmates? Don' t let it happen to you. If you have to go home late, you should let your parents know.
Use the Internet carefully. The Internet can be very useful for students. But some things on the Internet aren' t for children, so try to look at web pages (网页) that are good for you.

Allen : I' ve never been a big fan of the bears, especially the vacation show. On my last trip to Disneyland(1999) we passed it by, because we didn't want to spend the time on something we didn't really enjoy. If we'd known it would be closed by our next visit, I'm sure we would have watched it one more time. I was just making the point that it wasn' t until Disney announced the closing that this feeling suddenly sprang(弹跳) up for the C'ountry Bear show at Disneyland.
But I think the idea of keeping some attractions open forever regardless of the number of visitors it gets is a mistake. We all have great memories of the Bears, but clearly very few kids today ( or I should say families today) are making those same memories from this show. That may be a sad fact, but it' s a fact. For whatever reason, the show doesn' t pull in the numbers. Isn' t it right to use the Country Bear space to bring in more popular attraction so that more kids today can make
